A Decentralized Delivery Solution

LAVA empowers business owners, customers, and especially delivery drivers by minimizing costs and maximizing profit for all users as a result of cutting out middlemen with our decentralized system. Our vision is to build a decentralized platform where there are no overhead costs, middlemen, and complicated payments are reduced.

Why did we start LAVA?

As we know nowadays, delivery services are built upon a centralized system, which is known to cause a variety of troubles for customers, business owners, and drivers, according to surveys conducted. Traditional delivery services are now becoming more disconnected from the needs of their users. Consumers regularly face high fees and limited delivery options, whereas businesses struggle with rising delivery costs and lack of control over the involvement. Delivery drivers, the backbone of the system, can be demotivated by the low wages and unclear payment structures. These issues stem from the complete reliance on the centralized platforms, taking substantial cuts from their users and prioritizing their own profit over user experience.

Problems

• Commission Charge: Delivery applications normally charge stores around 10% to 20%. Company drivers get charged from 20% to 30%, while freelance drivers get charged from 30% to 40%. However, that also depends on which application they are using. (This information was from 4 drivers who were all from different companies.)

• Payment Process: Each store has to wait around a month to get the payment from the companies (3 stores we interviewed said that most of the applications they use mostly pay them at the end of each month except one app that pays them immediately).

• Product Charge: Customers pay extra charges from some stores because some of the menus in the application are more expensive than in stores.

Solutions

LAVA recognizes these social concerns and aims to disrupt the traditional model by empowering all participants in the delivery ecosystem. Decentralized distribution programs aim to address these challenges by giving each party more control and flexibility.

On LAVA, we cut out the commission fees from stores and the drivers. The profit they earned is what they keep. Moreover, users get a live update of what they earned and can withdraw their earnings anytime.

The result of this decentralized approach will eliminate the third party and extra cost. This means the products will be more affordable for the customers, businesses will get all their profit on time, and drivers will receive all their delivery fees. Consequently, it will be extra profit for all the users of LAVA.
